A true classic, the 7581 Tea Brick from Kunming Tea Factory is one of the most renowned shou (ripe) Pu-erh recipes, prized for its rich history and deep, evolving flavors. First developed in the late 1970s, this tea showcases the meticulous craft of early light fermentation, producing a brew that balances elegance, depth, and refinement.

Singapore Storage – Clean, Balanced, and Refined

Our Singapore-stored 7581 has matured beautifully under clean, controlled conditions, preserving its rich complexity while allowing its flavors to develop with clarity and smoothness. Unlike wetter-stored versions, our tea maintains a pure, aged aroma with a refined and refreshing character, making it an excellent choice for connoisseurs who appreciate well-preserved aged shou Pu-erh.

Tasting Profile

Flavor: Silky smooth, soft, and delicate with a gentle sweetness that encourages salivation (生津), leaving the mouth feeling refreshed and hydrated. Subtle notes of aged wood, Chinese herbs, and a hint of camphor add depth without heaviness.
Aroma: Elegant and calming, with aged wood, dried herbs, and a mild medicinal sweetness.
Liquor: Clear, bright, and light maroon, reflecting its well-aged but clean and refined storage.
Qi (Energy): Gentle, refined, and peaceful—this tea provides a sense of well-being rather than strong stimulation, making it perfect for relaxation and contemplation.

A Benchmark for Aged Shou Pu-erh

The 7581 recipe is often credited with setting the gold standard for shou Pu-erh, rivalling even well-aged raw (sheng) Pu-erh in depth and complexity. This particular batch is a rare find, with its classic 1980s formulation, excellent raw material selection, and careful aging in Singapore storage.

Perfect for both drinking now and further aging, this tea offers a harmonious balance of smoothness and depth, making it a prized addition to any collection.

Net weight: Originally 250g, with slight natural weight loss due to aging.
