Since 1659, the Koizumi family has served as the exclusive kettle makers to the Lords of Nanbu — and the very creators of the first *Nanbu Tetsubin*. Now in its 11th generation, each kettle is handcrafted in Morioka, Japan, using either traditional cast iron or sand-refined Edo-period iron (from *Kan’ei Tsuho* coins).
